It's a cliché, but doesn't time fly? This month we're back at La Sarthe, for the world's most prestigious motor-racing event: the 24 hours of Le Mans.
This year Lord Drayson, the former British Science Minister and star of our documentary series 'Licence to Le Mans' Seasons One and Two, will compete in a bio-powered Lola Judd prototype. The Drayson Racing Team, which includes hot-shot young driver Jonny Cocker and the hugely experienced Emanuele Pirro, will face the might of the turbocharged diesel entries from Audi and Peugeot in a true David and Golliath battle.
And after years of fundraising, the Joey Dunlop Foundation has opened the doors of its specially designed disabled accessible accommodation at Braddan Bridge House on the Isle of Man TT course. Those involved with the charity, set-up in the road-racing legend's name, have worked long and hard to bring these plans to fruition – well done to everyone involved.
